Modular Construction

Commercial buildings, which include warehouses, restaurants, hospitals, retail outlets, office complexes, hotels, motels, and shops are the most common uses of modular construction. Modular architecture is a flexible design concept that enables quick assembly of various components to create a building from start to finish in a timely manner. Modular construction is also known as prefabricated construction. The modular buildings are usually made out of a high density fiberboard and provide better structural integrity, while reducing waste and costs. Modular construction also offers superior design service and design of modular buildings for multiple-story and single-family residential use.

Modular construction includes the complete building from the foundation up. It is often assembled and delivered at the site, eliminating long and complicated transportation,or shipping procedures. A modular building is built to last a lifetime, with a minimum amount of maintenance required. Commercial modular construction uses advanced computerized design methods, including CAD software that allows the designer to visualize the finished product, visualize parts, and easily add parts on to the building. Modular construction includes the frame, walls, insulation, windows, doors, heating and cooling system, etc. Modular buildings have been proven efficient and durable, which makes them highly preferred for commercial use. In addition, the cost of such a building is usually much lower than traditional structures because it does not require the installation of expensive utilities and/or structural equipment.

Modular buildings offer cost savings by eliminating the need for an elevator, which is often the main reason why more people opt for conventional buildings. As modular structures can be erected at the site of the manufacturing facility itself, they can be constructed and delivered without any disruption to production. Furthermore, modular structures can be assembled and disassembled as required. Construction of modular structures is often time saving. This is because with a modular construction, there is no need to hire crane operators or heavy-duty workers to assemble or disassemble the modular structure. With modular construction, assembly of the different parts are also easy and less time consuming.
